At PHM, we believe that real change starts with real conversations. That’s exactly what we delivered when a major European vehicle manufacturer asked us to explore their senior team’s readiness to embrace electric vehicles (EVs). They had recognised they needed to spark a shift in mindset across their European operations to ensure the success of an impending (and critical), EV launch. To that end, PHM designed and ran a strategic workshop with over 40 of their senior leaders.
This wasn’t just a day of PowerPoint slides and polite nodding. We designed a hands-on, insight-rich session that challenged assumptions, exposed challenges, and built engagement. From the manufacturer’s head office to their national sales companies, we brought together leaders from across the business to talk openly about their confidence in EVs, their understanding of the customer journey, and their role in driving change.
Shared Understanding
We kicked off with a deep dive into the strategic importance of EVs—why they matter, what’s changing in the market, and how connected technologies are reshaping the ownership experience. Then we got practical. Through group exercises, live polling, and real-world dealer insights, we helped participants map out what an EV customer journey really looks like—and where their current approach was falling short.
One of the most powerful moments? When we asked delegates to reflect on their own EV advocacy. Many admitted that, although they had driven an EV, they had not lived with one or experienced charging on a long journey. That lack of experience was a lightbulb moment—how can you lead change if you haven’t experienced it yourself?
By the end of the day, we’d helped the leadership team identify key actions to build internal belief, improve customer experience, and support their dealer network. The feedback? Honest, energised, and ready to take the next step.
This workshop wasn’t about ticking boxes. It was about creating a shared understanding and a clear path forward. And that’s what we do best.
